Growth chair, for Kranen/Gille

For my graduation project, I designed a chair with / for designers duo Kranen/Gille.

They often get their inspiration from nature and translate this into innovative industrial produced products. The chair needed to be very functional and timeless in design, so it could fit multiple purposes. With these principles I came up with this design.

Thinner tubes are used for the parts which need less strenght, as can also be seen in the growing of plants. To give the seat an appearence of a leaf, the tubes are sunk into the cushion to mimic the veins.
